We are a team of eight chaplains that recognise that work is only one part of any individual’s life. Workplace performance will always be influenced by what else is going on in each person’s life. We visit organisations around Nottingham to offer their employees a trained and trustworthy confidant with the time and willingness to listen

Jo Tatum

Reverend Jo Tatum is an experienced Lead with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit organization management industry. Skilled in Bible Study, Coaching, Discipleship, Pastoral Counseling, and Team Building. Strong community and social services professional with a BA MTh focused in Theology & Ministry from St Johns Theological College, Nottingham. In her spare time Jo is most likely to be found watching live music!

David Clayden

Reverend David Clayden has been a Minister for over thirty years with posts in Nottinghamshire, West Midlands, Islington London and rural Suffolk; whilst in London John was also Chaplain to the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Barbican. David has over fifty years of Christian faith and experience and considers it a great privilege serve as a Chaplain. Outside of work he can be found playing Badminton, Golf and electro acoustic guitar, as well as being lifelong supporter of Arsenal FC.

June Brown

June trained as a Secretary and worked for two companies before leaving to raise a family. She returned working as a part time PA to the Chair of the Nottingham & Derby District of the Methodist Church. She was accepted and trained by the Chaplaincy Department at Nottingham City Hospital as a volunteer ward visitor which she did for eight years. She is married to Terry, has two daughters and five Grandchildren.

Joy Langford

Joy has enjoyed a varied career: nurse, midwife, teacher and now she is an ordained minister with the Congregational Federation. She has two churches, one in Nottingham and the other in Leicestershire. One of Joy’s great passions is listening to peoples’ stories and offering support. She is married to John and has two grown up children.

Richard Davis

Richard is 64 years old and retired, having previously worked as a solicitor in private practise, for over 30 years. Richard is a licensed reader in the Anglican Church, and is based at his home church, St Luke’s Gamston and Bridgford. He’s an avid Norwich City Football Club (for 54 years) but interested in most sports, particularly golf, which he attempts to play whenever he gets the opportunity. Also finding time to be a member of a Shared Garden allotment project, and the West Bridgford Skills Exchange.

Mike Houghton

Mike had a varied career working in engineering design, technical sales, training and consultancy. Prior to his recent retirement he ran his own home improvement business for many years. He is a licensed lay minister at St. Peter’s in Ruddington, and is married to Dorothy, with two grown-up children.

The Chaplain speaks sensitively into a range of situations in one to one and group situations. She has led prayers as staff conferences, spoke after tragic events at team meetings and also meets with staff individually at their request. She has skills to communicate effectively in all of these situations.
